Our Team

Chief Executive Officer

Erik Sletten

As the Chief Executive Officer for Sletten Companies, Erik is responsible for the overall strategic direction and growth of the company. He is a true believer in the company ESOP and works to ensure the company Owners understand the importance of the ESOP structure and how their company is doing for them. Erik works closely with the President, Chief Financial Officer and General Counsel to ensure the operations of the company are aligned with the strategic growth objectives of Sletten.

Erik has been with Sletten Construction Company since 1996. Erik graduated from Montana State with a degree in Civil Engineering in 1992 and prior to joining the company worked as a Civil Engineer for small private engineering company and Morrison Knudsen Company. Erik became a licensed Civil Engineer in Nevada in 1997. He has held leadership roles in our Arizona and Nevada offices. In 2000, Erik was named COO of Sletten and then assumed the role of President in 2001. In 2004 Erik assumed the additional role of CEO. Throughout his tenure at Sletten, Erik has led the advancement and growth of our Company, as well as being an integral part of our transition to a 100% Subchapter S Employee Owned ESOP Company.

President

Tony Ewalt

As the President of Sletten Companies, Tony leads the oversight of our many operating divisions. He works closely with the senior management and Division Managers to foster relationships, secure future work and successfully and safely execute the workload to drive overall company sustainability. Tony’s focus is on the day to day operations and support of our growing teams both in the field and in the office.

Tony started at Sletten Companies in 2003 after graduating from Montana State University with a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineer. Beginning his career as a Project Engineer, he worked his way up in both our Nevada and Great Falls offices, eventually leading several Building and Specialty Divisions. In 2011 he became Vice President and launched our Corrections Division. In 2016 he became a Senior Vice President overseeing multiple divisions, and in 2024 he was asked to lead Sletten Companies as our President.

Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer

Nick Neuman

As Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, Nick’s responsibilities encompass the entire economic spectrum of the company, from strategic planning and budgeting to risk management and financial reporting. Nick leads the accounting, cash management, insurance, budgeting, finance and forecasting teams, as well as overseeing our ESOP program. He plays a pivotal role in navigating the construction industry’s unique financial complexities and the company’s financial health.

Nick started at Sletten in 2000 as an Intern, joining us full-time in 2004 upon graduating from Eastern Washington University with a degree in Business Administration. He furthered his education by receiving a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Montana in 2008. In 2022 he was promoted to CFO.

General Counsel, Secretary, Treasurer

Dallin Wayment

As General Counsel, Dallin is responsible for all legal affairs, legal risk management, coordination of claims resolution, contracting procedures, corporate ethics, safety compliance, and union relationships. Dallin also leads both our training program and corporate information technology team.

Dallin graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Arts, and obtained his Juris Doctorate from The University of Oregon. Prior to joining Sletten, he worked at a boutique construction litigation firm in Las Vegas where he represented owners, general contractors, and subcontractors in complex litigation, labor and employment issues, and OSHA citation disputes. In 2012 he joined Sletten as Associate General Counsel, and in 2016 became our General Counsel.

Senior Vice President

Dane Carter

Dane is a Senior Vice President overseeing our Idaho, Nevada, Arizona, and Preconstruction Divisions. Based in the Las Vegas office, he travels the southwest to work with our clients, ensure quality project delivery, and lead staff development.

Dane graduated from University of Florida in 2001 with a Bachelor’s in Construction Management. He joined our Las Vegas office in 2002 as a project engineer, quickly working up to a project management role. In 2005 he added a Master’s in Business Administration to his qualifications. In 2011 Dane became a Vice President and the Division Manager for Nevada, and then in 2016 he became a Senior Vice President.

Senior Vice President

Shawn Warner

As Senior Vice President, Shawn provides support to Wyoming Division and key projects in both Las Vegas and Phoenix. Shawn leads research and implementation of new company-wide construction software, ensuring Sletten continues to work on the cutting edge of technology.

Shawn graduated from Montana State University in 1992 with bachelor’s in science and became a licensed engineer in 1997. After 10 years working in the consulting engineering industry, Shawn joined Sletten in 2002 as a Division Manager. In 2011 he became a Vice President and the Wyoming Division Manager, and in 2016 he was promoted to Senior Vice President.

Vice President, Safety/Environmental

Tom Morano

As Vice President and the division manager of Safety and Environmental, Tom is the authority on safety and compliance Sletten Companies. Tom is responsible for maintenance and implementation of our corporate Safety Program, loss prevention, and environmental policies. He leads the team responsible for establishing and maintaining safe practices on every Sletten job site. His oversight and clear vision for company safety has established Sletten as a leader in safety in the western united states.

Tom started at Sletten Construction in 1986 as a laborer and has been with the Las Vegas office since 1990. His work ethic, understanding of construction best practices and care for his fellow workers all helped to raise him up quickly through the ranks of Sletten. As a union laborer, Tom became a superintendent and in 2002 he began working in our Safety Division. In 2015 he became a Vice President and the Safety and Environmental Division Manager.

Senior Vice President

Paul Robinson

As the former Division Manager of our Industrial Division and current Board Member, Paul brings decades of experience working at Sletten to all executive level discussions. Though he is no longer working on the day-to-day operations of the Industrial Division, Paul remains a resource for estimating, bidding and quality control.

Paul started at Sletten in 1986 as a field engineer and quickly worked up to estimator and project manager. He became the division manager of the Industrial Division in 1994, and retired from that position in 2025. Paul remains a key member of the Sletten Executive Committee and Board of Directors.

Vice President, Director of Preconstruction

Stephanie Hable

Stephanie is a Vice President and the Preconstruction Division Manager. She oversees the preconstruction managers and process on all alternate delivery projects, as well as the Marketing, Estimating, Virtual Contruction, and Commissioning/MEP groups.

Stephanie graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Architecture, and worked in Architecture until 2015, when she joined Sletten Construction. She is a licensed architect in both Nevada and Montana, as well as a LEEP AP and DBIA certified professional. Stephanie started at Sletten in the Corrections Division as the first preconstruction manager in the company. In 2019 she became a Vice President to lead the newly formed Preconstruction Division and continues in that role today.

Corrections Division Manager

Tony Ewalt

As the President of Sletten Companies, Tony leads the oversight of our many operating divisions — including our Corrections Division. Tony is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the division and keeping Sletten on the cutting edge of corrections best practices. Tony also leads our Detention Equipment group, which supplies and installs detention products for Sletten and other national contractors.

Tony started at Sletten Companies in 2003 after graduating from Montana State University with a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineer. Beginning his career as a Project Engineer, he worked his way up in both our Nevada and Great Falls offices, eventually leading several Building and Specialty Divisions. In 2011 he became Vice President and launched our Corrections Division. Northern Building Division Manager

Cliff Garness

Cliff is a Vice President and the Division Manager of the Northern Building Division, our oldest construction group. He oversees a variety of public and private project types all over Montana and the surrounding states, and manages offices in Great Falls, Missoula, and Billings, MT.

Cliff started his career as a laborer in 1994 as a third generation Sletten employee. After completing his Construction Engineering Technology degree in 1999 from Montana State University, Cliff worked his way up through a series of positions at Sletten, becoming a Vice President and the Northern Building Division Manager in 2016.

Bridge Division Manager

Russell Robertson

As Vice President and Division Manager of the Bridge Division, Russ oversees operations for staff and projects all over Montana and leads estimating on all bridge projects. Managing a team of approximately 60 people, Russ ensures quality control, on-time and in-budget delivery while expanding his division’s footprint.

Russ is a third-generation Sletten employee who started his career in the field in 1999 as a laborer for the Bridge Division on a small project in Chinook, MT After graduating from Montana State University in 2003, Russ joined the Great Falls office as a Project Manager in the Bridge Division, and in 2022 he became Vice President and the Bridge Division Manager.

Idaho Division Manager

Bill Sharp

Bill is a Vice President and the Idaho Division manager. Out of our Boise office, Bill oversees operations throughout Idaho and the western united states, with projects from Alaska and all over the northern and western United States.

After graduating from the University of Michigan in 1996 with a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, Bill worked several years in the construction industry. In 2000 he completed his Masters of Engineering in Construction Engineering and Management at the University of Michigan, before joining Sletten in 2001 as a Project Manager. Bill helped establish the Boise office and grow our national retail footprint before his promotion to Vice President and Division Manager in 2022.

Nevada/Energy Division Manager

Josh Guisti

Josh started working in Sletten as an apprentice in 1996. Since that time, he has since held positions in six different divisions. Josh now oversees all operations for Nevada and Energy projects.
Shop Division Manager

Matt Hoyer

Matt is a Vice President and the leader of our Shop Division. He oversees the vehicle fleet, equipment, and personnel necessary to support all of Sletten Companies. He ensures the right equipment is available when needed, and every piece of machinery is in top working condition.

Matt started at Sletten in 2019, bringing 10 years of experience managing commercial equipment and machinery in Industrial recycling and large-scale agriculture operations. Upon his start, Matt modernized and optimized our existing fleet management systems, improving the efficiency and reliability of service to all our projects. He was promoted to Vice President in 2024.

Preconstruction Division Manager

Stephanie Hable

Stephanie has over 24 years of experience in construction and architecture. Her experience encompasses a wide range of responsibilities including, conceptual design, budget and schedule creation, programming and construction administration. As Director of Preconstruction, Stephanie oversees all oversees all preconstruction, estimating, marketing, and virtual construction.
Industrial Division Manager

Jake Ostrander

As Vice President and Division Manager of our Industrial Group, Jake oversees water and wastewater projects in Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Nevada and the surrounding states.

Jake started his career at Sletten as an intern in the early 2000s. After graduation from Montana State University in 2004 as a Civil Engineer he rejoined Sletten for several years before moving on to focus on design. For almost two decades he worked as a leading civil engineer specializing in civil infrastructure projects across the western United States. In 2025 he returned to Sletten to lead our Industrial Division.

Safety/Environmental Division Manager

Tom Morano

As Vice President and the division manager of Safety and Environmental, Tom is the authority on safety and compliance Sletten Companies. Wyoming Division Manager

John Griffith

As Vice President and Division Manager over the Wyoming Building Division, John oversees operations for all over Wyoming projects, pursuits in adjacent states, and manages offices in Casper, Cody, and Laramie.

John began his career in the commercial construction sector in 2002, after receiving a Construction Engineering degree from Montana State University. He spent time working on challenging and complex projects throughout the Western United states before returning to his native roots in Wyoming. In 2023 John joined Sletten Construction to lead the Wyoming Division.

Martin Becker

Mr. Becker holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of Pacific in Stockton, California (1971). Mr. Becker also holds a Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of Pacific, McGeorge School of Law (1974). Mr. Becker is a member of the State Bar of Nevada.

In 1974-75, Mr. Becker served as the Law Clerk to the Chief Justice of the Nevada Supreme Court. In 1975-76, Mr. Becker was the Supervising Law Clerk for the Nevada Supreme Court. Thereafter, Mr. Becker commenced the private practice of law in Las Vegas, Nevada.

After extensive background in the legal and construction fields, Mr. Becker became Sletten Construction Company’s first General Counsel in March 1987. Over 38 years he has provided his experience in the construction industry to the benefit of the Sletten Companies in multiple roles regarding corporate management, safety, risk management, compliance, labor relations, etc. He has been a member of the Board of Directors since 1991. Mr. Becker retired as Executive Vice-President/General Counsel in 2016. He was appointed as an Outside Director in June 2016. He continues to serve in this capacity and is the Chair of the Audit Committee. Mr. Becker continues to serve the Sletten Companies in special project capacities at the request of senior company management.

Mr. Becker has extensive training and experience in Alternate Dispute Resolution within the construction industry.

Throughout his business career, Mr. Becker has served on numerous industry and charitable boards in Montana and Nevada.

Len Jessup

Len Jessup is a visionary leader in higher education, accomplished entrepreneur, and startup investor with a distinguished career spanning academia and business. A two-time university president and business school dean, Jessup has dedicated his life to fostering innovation, leadership, and economic growth.

Born into a family of Italian immigrant entrepreneurs, Jessup inherited a passion for business that shaped his career. He earned a doctorate in Management and Organizational Behavior from the University of Arizona, with a minor in Management Information Systems, along with an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in Information and Communication Studies from California State University, Chico. As the first in his family to graduate from college, he is deeply committed to creating opportunities for others through education and economic development.

Jessup’s career highlights include serving as president of Claremont Graduate University, where he led a member institution of the prestigious Claremont College consortium, and as president of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), where he championed public-private partnerships and spearheaded initiatives to elevate UNLV to a Carnegie R1 research institution. Under his leadership, UNLV expanded its tech transfer and commercialization capabilities, including dedicating the Harry Reid Research and Technology Park and constructing the building that now houses Black Fire Innovation and all its related startup activities.

Earlier in his career, Jessup served as dean of the business schools at the University of Arizona and Washington State University, where he built nationally ranked programs and supported groundbreaking initiatives like large-scale business plan competitions and innovative technology transfer models. His expertise in leadership, innovation, entrepreneurship, and organizational change has been recognized with numerous awards, including the prestigious CEO Award from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District VII.

After retiring as president of Claremont Graduate University, Jessup returned to Las Vegas, where he serves as a Fellow at the Lincy Institute at UNLV, focusing on building the region’s startup ecosystem. He is also the managing partner of

Desert Forge Ventures, which will launch in early 2025 to drive innovation in sectors such as AI, health care, clean tech, and biotech.

Jessup’s lifelong dedication to fostering economic development and education is rooted in his entrepreneurial heritage. His work continues to transform communities and inspire others to pursue their dreams, just as his Italian immigrant parents and grandparents once did.

His latest book, Self Less, published by Forbes, is an Amazon Best Seller, reflecting his philosophy of leadership grounded in service, vision, and impact.
